10. Sansa Stark
Sansa is played by the actress Sophie Turner. She is the daughter of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell and his wife Lady Catelyn, sister of Robb, Arya, Bran and Rickon Stark, and half-sister of Jon Snow.
In the beginning of the series, we see Sansa as a foolish little girl. Unlike her sister Arya, she is well-mannered and more lady-like. She dreams of getting married to a prince and fulfilling her duties.
However, things don’t turn out so well for her. She is betrothed to Joffrey, a mad and cruel boy who has her father executed and has her watch it. In the sick games to get to the Iron Throne, she is merely a pawn.
Afterwards, she is married off to Tyrion Lannister, against her will of course. Even after her escape, she cannot find peace. Her family being murdered, she is convinced by Petyr Baelish that by marrying Ramsay she could eventually get her revenge. Unfortunately for her, once again she is in the hands of a monster, helpless and alone.
After all that she has been through, Sansa slowly loses herself in the process, but her strength and perseverance come to the surface when she finally manages to escape.
She might be young and fragile, but Sansa has shown just how much horror she can take and still hold on to some hope. Not everyone would survive it. She has grown so much throughout the series, and I believe her best is yet to come.
“I am Sansa Stark of Winterfell. This is my home. And you can’t frighten me.”
